What are your guys thoughts on opening weekend? With having an early teal season and the youth hunt before the opener to shoot up the local birds. And the over pressure and 9 am opener. Are you guys going to go out still or sit it out?
I think this is the first year I will sit out the southern opener for sure, might still do the northern opener just because it's the only time my dad and I duck hunt together. I think the teal season was the final straw for me, I think a lot of wood ducks are going to be shot and it will really hurt the local populations for the regular opener.

I don't know. I was never super gung ho for early teal, it's seems like alot of people who were are now having second thoughts. I plan to hunt early teal but I will be interested to see what effect it has on my hunting spots. Last year we shot a few birds on opening day, mostly teal, so now it will be interesting to see what happens come opening day. I will hunt the southern opener because that was the plan all along. Hopefully everything won't be blown out of there.

I don't really plan on hunting early teal hunting. I'm trying to find a field for early goose opener but if i can't then the river is a last option and if a couple teal buzz by, well they will feel the rath of my 3.5" bullet.
As for my thoughts on early teal, it will educate birds a lot sooner, and regar opener is not goin to be that good. It never really has been good with the late opening time. But, I'm just excited for everything to open.
