Well after Tanner posted his favorite pictures thread it got me looking thru some of my older photos. If anyone else has any oldies, post em up with a short story.
Thought I would share a few. This first on is from 2009. I took a good buddy out on his first ever duck hunt. Needless to say he has been ducking hunting ever since. This was a huge pothole marsh located in Western Mn. Always enjoyed hunting this area.
This one is from 2010. I never shot a duck on this outing but had one heck of a sunrise. everything had froze up over night and the area I was living at this time didn't have much for hunting spots with current. So I tried to make due.
Will always remember this hunt from 2010. I came back from college to hunt with my brother. We set up on big water chasing divers, needless to say they never showed up. So we packed up our big spread, landed the boat and headed south. Launched from an area where no one really hunts because there is never birds around. We started running back pockets and low and behold we jumped up a group of about 30 mallards. Threw out a few deeks and had one of the best mallard shoots I have been apart of. literally had groups upwards of 2 to 3 doz dumping in every 15 to 20 min. We shot this hole out for the next few days and had a blast. Have never seen a duck back in there since. I check it every year hoping the water is back in there and so are the ducks but always find nothing. We had a blast while the action was hot.

That mallard hunt sounds like a dream, and the pic is awesome.

here is a pic from a number of years ago. The first season both dogs hunted. It was a morning hunting a new spot for the first time. Called each of those mallards in one at a time, and got the fully colored GWT on top of it. There was a lot of birds flying that day, probably could have stayed to finish out the limit, but I was good for the day. bonus was one of the mallards was banded 11 years prior in Saskatchewan.
