Hope everybody has a happy thanksgiving!
P.S. Does anybody have any open water with ducks on it yet? Looking to get out this weekend yet, thinking lake michigan is going to be my only bet!
Thanks, Tanner

Happy Thanksgiving. I talked to a guy yesterday and he said the bay has ice on it. I was gonna go up there this morning but didnt want to risk the 2 hr drive.

Happy turkey day. We have been busting ice to and from the landings. Only a handful of guys out busting ice. Heavy duty hulls is a must. We ran into a section that was pushing 3+" thick. Brother was able to get out and walk around the boat on the ice.
Today I found some open that I am gonna attempt to walk to. Hope the ice on the way out is thick enough to hold me.

No, I couldn't find any open water for the last weekend of the season, so I decided to make some. Unfortunately, the ducks didn't get the word that we were open for business so they didn't show up.

Holy smokes, chainsawing for ducks! I realized it was a little late in the year to try duck hunting when I saw 2 guys with ATVs icefishing on Friday.

I wish I had a chainsaw, I opened all that up with a hatchet!
I never thought the ice would be that thick so that's all I took with me. After a couple of hours of hacking I had two big blisters on my thumb that ripped open and my hand felt like it was broken. I went back the next day with my hand auger and made the hole much bigger in about 20 minutes. But it was all in vain. If I had opened it up earlier maybe the ducks would have found it.
