I was wondering if anybody else sucks it up in the fog. I was told that when the fog burns off the ducks start flying, but that has never happened. It seems like the only chance you have for ducks in the fog is if they happen to fly by low, or you are in the exact spot they want to be in. You don't get a chance to convince any to come by and check out your decoys, cause you can't see the ducks to call to them, and they can't see your decoys.
Today in the fog, I had 4 gadwall come by low enough, and that was it. Once the fog burned off you could see birds flying, but not a ton.
Was wondering what your experience is with duck hunting in the fog.

I've had good shoots and bad shoots in the fog.

never had much luck in the fog, other than stalking geese on the river.

Used to hunt fog a lot in Louisiana before I moved back up here. The birds are actually flying IN the fog. The good part is they can't see you. The bad part is they can't see your decoys. Never had any luck in the fog.

yeah I totally agree, they still fly like normal, but they can't see your decoys unless they are on top of them.

The birds can still hear in the fog so if you keep your calls running you might have better success. If your a good caller.
