I was leaning towards that now here's the question do I ride my big rig out there or slip in the back way with skiffs you think it would matter they see boats all the time Is this spot private or public? If private, sit tight in the truck and drink some coffee and wait for them to leave. You should have plenty of time to setup before they come back to water. Since its early season, no need to run a big spread so I wouldn't think you would need a lot of time to setup.

Personally, I really don't care to shoot birds as they leave the roost and its usually harder to do than most would think. You have to be pretty lucky to get the birds to fly over your spot in order to get a shot. More than likely it'll be a barrage of gunfire with some feathers blow out of their rear end. Do you have permission to hunt the field?

if your waiting for them to fly out it shouldnt matter what you take. You just need to set up where it will be the easiest to hide.
If you can hide the skiffs better then take the skiffs.
do you know if the field they are going to is going to be hunted on the opener?

We just had a big weather front push thru last night and this morning, kinda thru them off there usual pattern. Went and checked out a new area on lunch but found mainly corn with some alfalfa rowed into it but it was too tight imo to hold geese. Gonna give it a look here this evening. I just haven't had much luck finding them in cut alfalfa around here.

last night went to the field we have been watching to find that the farmer was out turning it over and the geese had moved on to something else. Just my luck. After driving the area we scout we came up with nothing. Burlap is out scouting this morning, watched em leave the roost and lost em in the fog.
