I gotta ask what yall see or like in a double reed. I have owned a few and they always get traded or sold. I learned on a single and maybe I am partial to a single now but curious as to why some of you prefer a double over the single?
Just trying to start some small talk.

I havent had a single reed that I like. I have blown a ton and the double seems easier for me and I like the way it sounds. I am picky on my doubles because some do stick. But I have had good luck with mine.
I had a soft yentzen when i was ground. a duck commaner black double reed call, several other cheapos from walmart I bought and didnt like. I bought a hayes at a show and got a deal on them since I bought a duck and goose call. I have blown those ever since. Hayes hammer time and Hayes mallard time. I also have the hayes speck, hayes meat hook, and a 5in1 whistle all on the lanyard.

Its just hard for me to think that there isn't a single reed you like. Ive always viewed doubles as a call with training wheels. But what suites your needs and works is all the matters.

Im not against it. it just seems I will like the hail call or quacks but cant get the feed to roll like I want or vice versa. My main problem with alot of calls is making them stick,

Check out lares or if ya ever run into me ill let ya run one. I don't do much rolling feed when hunting. Stick with cuts and double cuts. You air lock singles?
