Jess and I went up to Horicon on the refuge on Saturday morning. We saw a ton of different species of ducks that included, Ruddy ducks, gadwall, widgeon, mallards, wood ducks, canvasback, bluebill, redheads, shoveler, blue wing teal, bufflehead, and of course Canada geese. I was surprised not to see any green wing teal.

Yeah, Jess took that pic, I thought it was cool to have both a drake and hen Gadwall that close to each other for a pic! Yeah They are cool ducks! I'm glad to hear that you haven't seen any GWT either, I thought I was missing something. Was the pintail you saw a drake?

Good Stuff. I haven't seen any Gadwall myself but I've seen most everything else so far this year, including GWT in the Theresa Marsh area on Sunday 4/21. They are definately starting to show up. Also saw a Bald Eagle that day.
