Pretty clean looking gun. If it shoots there are no complaints on my end. It took me till I was 24 or 25 to be able to get a nice gun, until then I shot a Remington 1100 for years. I still no a few guys who shoot older 870s. Them 870s may not be a sight for fancy eyes, but day in and out that gun fires and has zero issues regardless of weather.
Your grandpa still around? If he is, get out with him as much as possible, they always leave us too soon. What I would give for one more hunt with my Gramps

My Grandpas gone to Heaven. I do love my 870. They are a workhorse gun.

Sorry to hear that, my gramps went out deer hunting for about 45 mins opening day, and went home. When we talked to him later, he said this was his last time going out hunting. Sad to hear, but what can you do?

Loosing a close one is always tough. Loosing my gramps has been my hardest to date. He's the one who got me started chasing fowl.
Sometimes there not much you can do, if you can take them out and do all the work I have found they don't need to even shoot to have a good time. I took a group out this year and one man was an 74 year old grandfather. We helped him In anyway we could. Made him breakfast, kept the heaters on in the boat. He didn't shoot at every group and it took him a while to stand up when he did shoot but he had a blast. Thankfully the ducks showed up. Sharing a blind with this gentleman was a pleasure. I enjoyed ever story he told us about the old days of chasing fowl. Reminded me of sharing a blind with my gramps. I couldn't thank him enough for that feeling.
Sooner or later we will all see eachother out on the big marsh and share a blind once again....
