Well kinda scratching our heads on that opener. 90+ geese using our field and I shot the only goose of the weekend lol. The fog screwed us and alot of geese landed short of us as well. I had a blast whacking a bunch of doves though those things were eating up the mojo dove!

Well the birds have been darn finicky since Saturday morning. Cant seem to get more than one group to want into the field. last night had one group decoy nice but shyed short on us, one got two close... Blind shot My little man had some fun with it after I cleaned it, reminds me of me when I was a kid, I always had a knife out when my old man was cleaning game. He prob learned more in that 30 min of gutting than a science class could teach him about internal organs.

Had some buddies hunting somewhere in WI that had some better luck, but they also have a lot more birds than I have where we hunt.

They did some work. Fella spent a lot of time scouting and lined the fields up. They do have an advantage of having large numbers of birds. 300+ in multiple fields makes things easier than hunting 75 birds. For the amount of time my buddy scouts he deserves it. He also treats the farmers nice, goose sausage, goose sticks and the occansional visit in the off season to maintain relationships.

This warm weather is not ideal hunting for me. But it was nice to see some molt migrators starting to ride the somewhat of a north wind down to the river system here.

Today we got out there and trying to run a day loaf spot. Birds were flying by the ones we broke down got skybusted at by the d bags around us. Not sure why people think they can kill birds at 90yards. That makes two days in a row of being skunked. Top of the spread Down wind view On a good note we did have some good eats from some birds we shot on opener a few days prior.

Looking good, no pics for me... Same deal, had two small flocks turning into our decoys only to have drags across the pond take potshots at them... I'll never understand that.

I like the spread pics. I always liked those sleeper shells on the flats or waters edge. to me it doesnt get anymore natural then that.
