Today went out in the boat and tore it up on the marsh. Saw some ducks, but not what I would say a ton of them. Wood ducks were by far the majority. Then BWT, mallards, and even saw either a hen or immature drake red head. The water was low and there was a lot of mud. Got stuck pretty bad twice in the mud, but it was a nice day on the water, definitely got the itch for duck season!
If we do get some rain and the water raises about a foot there will be a ton of food for them out there. Also didn't see a lot of rice, but did see one pocket that had quite a bit of it.

yeah I agree, things would be awesome for duck hunting if the marsh's were about a foot higher.

I was up in the Horicon over the weekend as well. Also Grand River area, around Uihleins/Rush Lake, and a few other places. Pretty much the same all around. Some ducks but not overwhelming numbers, and things are a little drier than I would like to see. Not nearly as bad as last year though thank God. There is still time, I'm definitely praying for some more rain.
