Hey guys! So new to the website. Btw love people are getting active and serious about Wisconsin Waterfowl. I currently am looking for a Mud Buddy though and need help. I do want a surface drive and NO LONGTAILS . My question is where is there a dealer around the Milwaukee area I cant seem to find one around here and dont know where else to look. I currently have a 1448 jon boat lt. Its the 20' transom so its the 14ft wide and deep version. Please can anyone help me in the right direction? Thanks, Nick -Waterfowl Addict Attachments:

dont waste your money on a mud buddy.....
Cant help you with local dealers as im on the other side of the state. With your size boat weight will be a factor. If I were you I would heavily consider copper head. They have a 23 in the works that seems to be a beast(not yet to be avail to public). An 18 would be all you need on that small of a boat.

I have a Mud Buddy Hyper drive 35 on a Gator Trax 3 man gator hide and I absolutely love the motor, easy to do modifications on it, and it works great, really put it through some different situations and I have never been disappointed by it at all. There are a ton of different surface drives out there, and most of them are great. My only experience is with a Mud buddy, and I have no complaints. Another reason I love it is there customer service, every modification I have done on the motor, I have talked to Micah at Mud Buddy and he always gets right back to me and is a great help. Love it, and I really think my next motor will be another mud buddy.
I don't know where the nearest dealer is, I know muddy water outdoors over by lacrosse is one and does a ton of work on them modifying them. Might want to check out the mud buddy website or contact Micah, he will help you find a dealer.

as far as mods go all the motors are the same, So i wouldnt give any company the upper hand on that. There call in service, I will admit has been good for me, even not being a mud buddy owner but I buy parts from there BPS line. I have bascially everything you can do to a vanny motor except a custom crank. Dont think I will do it again as the iron mt heads suck and should be re-done. They start leaking just like stockers after about ten hours. Will prob have one of the boys down south just re-work the heads next time.
I have never met the guy in la crosse but I have gone there and sat for the better part of 20 min w/ out being acknowledged. He was with one other guy that was just bull shitting away, didnt even say hey I will be with you in a minute. Sad if you ask me. So I have never gone back.
But still with what your describing for a boat I would go with a 23hp copper head for the weight factor and they make a good product.
