My wife Jess and I went out for a ride today and saw a ton of new ducks, saw one flooded corn field off of highway 60 by Grafton with at about 50-75 ducks on it, some divers were mixed in with them. It was pretty far off the road so we couldn't see what they were, but there was a pile of them in there. Also around Jackson there was some flooded lowlands that had geese everywhere, and some new species for this spring. We saw mallards, wood ducks, shoveler, widgeon, and blue wing teal. It was really cool seeing all these birds in the same hole, and there was also more birds on the other side of a thicket but we couldn't see what they were. we got some pics of the birds, but some may be fuzzy because they were so far away. Post on here what you guys are seeing, and especially if you got pics! Attachments:

Hi Tanner. I was also out and about Sunday in the same general area you were. I didn't see any woodies, or widgeon but I saw mallards, bluewings, bluebills, tons of shovelers, tons of hooded mergansers, and one red head. I also saw bunches of red breasted mergansers, with a few bufflehead mixed in, out on Lake Michigan I'm stoked about all the snow we had this winter and the rain we are gettting now. I'm really hoping for a good season after what the drought did to us last year.
Wasn't able to get any pics but hopefully I will get some next time out.

alot of geese like always. been seeing alot of birds paired up and no more big flocks anymore.
last week saw alot of bluebills stacked in the milwaukee harbor.
Looking forward to the season, I know this rain should help out alot. We planted Japanese millet that took off great last season we just never had any water. I havent been out there after all of the rain etc but I bet the water hole is full now.

This is a rare one. Not sure if anyone is familiar with a little State Forest on the north side of Milwaukee called Havenwoods. It's a pretty cool little spot right in the middle of a pretty rough part of town. I see alot of different kinds of birds and other wildlife there, but as far as waterfowl I've never seen anything but mallards and geese on their little pond. Until this saturday when I was shocked to come around the corner and see ring necked ducks on the pond. On Havenwoods own bird checklist ringers are listed as "unlikely to see". Couldn't really get any good pics because my camera doesn't zoom in very far, but in video mode I can zoom in closer. So I shot some video of them. It's pretty shaky but you can see they are definately ring necks. On a tiny pond within the city of Milwaukee! www.youtube.com/watch?v=JulOKNvmRQ0

Wow! Great video!! Ringers are awesome ducks! Decoy like a diver but aren't afraid of small water! They are so pretty too! Really gets you pumped up for fall when you see those ducks in a metro pond like that too!
