the start of this here season was very slow. paddled in and the ducks flew away never to return. hunted till 12:30 with only one woodie that the boy shot. took a brake and had some lunch. went bak out to different spot for some recon. shot my limit of woodies in 30 minutes while the boy took a nap in the burb. came back woke him up and went back. he got 2 more for his limit and a gwt. also called in a lone mallard to end the day. left at 6:30 to get home and have use some fresh duck! Was up in this neck of the woods for opener. Lots of geese and some ducks. Mainly shot mallards with two woodies. Only saw maybe 4 teal. Started off the weekend with a 3 man limit of honkers. Didn't slay the ducks but had a great time getting away from the zoo.

Hunted all day Saturday, and Sunday morning for a couple of hours. Friday scouting, saw a lot of geese, and a good amount of ducks. Come Saturday didn't see many geese at all, and the numbers of ducks seemed lower than they did on Friday. My dad and I did manage to get 11 on Saturday, our limit of wood ducks, 4 BWT, and a bonus hen ringbill. Did miss another hen ringbill, and did see two Bluebills, which was crazy. I know they weren't ringbills, they were lesser scaup, got a really good look at the pair. Did have a nice 2 for 1 on 2 of the BWT too. Didn't have a lot of birds come close but made the most of our shots. Sunday was a lot slower. With the full moon, you could hear birds flying in the dark because it was so bright. Only got one BWT, and missed a few woodies. Sunday night went bear hunting and got one, so it was a good weekend for hunting. Looking forward to southern opener this weekend! Attachments:

out hunting/scouting seeing lots of wood ducks down on the river. even managed 2 at a private lake/ponds that i can hunt this am. many more around there. i will let it load up for a hunt when some northerners show up. if that ever happens. still lots of geese using lake hayward as a safe zone.
