Yes you are correct. But no where did I state adults where shooting ducks. Not sure where your coming up with this. Them is referring to youth hunters in my statement.

I had birds by me most of the morning. The geese were kind hard to convince, but I got one and missed a few others. And the kid I brought with me shot 2 woodies first thing in the am. And missed a few others.

The kids we brought each got one blue wing teal. No geese and some missed shots.

It's was. In a way it was nice for them to see how hunting usually is. Youth opener often g&h we these kids a false impression in these kids that all it's about it killing birds. This ain't a foiles video. We pounded them last year with the same two kids and this year was slow. You could hear in some of there comments that they thought duck hunting was just fast action killing. I went on to explain things to them and tell them how things really are and why many people don't like a youth only hunt.
Big problem we had is some late coming sky busters down winded us by about 150 yards. Was sad to watch what these adults were letting those kids shoot at, very upsetting. Only good that some of it was we were able to explain to the youth that was with us why you don't do what they were doing, really pissed me off to see the ethics of this group. All there doing is teaching more refuge line sky boasters that sail cripples and then don't go chase them. Watched them sail two geese that went well over the 1/4 mile 1/2 mile range before going down to be followed up by no attempt to find the bird. Just sat there continuing to take 75 yard shots and educate more birds. Did I say these ppl pissed me off...
All in all we had a good time. We should of had six ducks boat if shooting was on but we l I is how that goes. Some good jokes were told, laughs were shared and these kids got to see how most duck hunts really pan out

But you are right. Late arriving no cripple chasing sky busters really piss me off too. But the boys got to see what not to do while HUNTING ducks. Remember folks, we as hunters are out there to hunt not shoot!! Go to the range if you want to shoot bullets.
