Hey guys, I went this week and built a new for this season duck hunting. The one I built last year had a couple of problems. First off the cattle really liked it and tore all the cover off it it, and grazed all the vegetation down around it so it stuck out like a sore thumb, but we did still kill ducks out it it. Then this spring with the very high water and ice out it totally took the blind out, all that was left were two of the six stakes holding the blind down. So this year I decided to bury two 55 gallon drums into the ground and use 3 feet chicken wire around the blind so we would be a lot closer to the ground if the cattle decided to graze around the area again. It went in pretty easy, only took about an hour to do the whole thing. Here are the pics of it! This is the pic of where the old blind was. Attachments:

Here is the old blind, used one year and then the high water and ice took it away! The grass was all as tall as the blind when I built it, until the cattle found it! I had it anchored with 6 stakes 3-4 feet into the ground and fastened to the blind, I thought that might help hold it, but it didn't! P.S. we also had to re brush the blind because the cattle used the blind as a rubbing post too! Attachments:

yeah stand in the barrel and the chicken wire is high enough to cover the rest of us up, I hope the grass comes in well in the blind to help conceal us too.

Do you just stand the hole time? That drum don't look big enough to sit down in.

yeah just stand the whole time, if you want to sit down during a slow time you can sit along the top edge of the barrel the dirt is flat along the edge.

I talked to a warden online. They said that you should be OK. Because the regs do not specify

Our state is not only horrible at being behind in almost all aspects of waterfowling but our regs are never black and white. Good old sconny for ya.
