Hey guys, I have decided to get a new duck call hopefully for this year. I am thinking of getting the RNT DC diablo or the Zink Nothin' But Green. I have had a number of single reeds before, one a guy made that I wasn't super impressed with, and the other was a Zink Open water call, and that call was good, but soooo loud, I tried calling softer with it, and it was still so loud, I am looking for a single reed call I just like the versitility of a single reed and looking to learn to do more with the calls, but I don't want a super loud one. Any suggestions or reviews on either of the calls I mentioned?
Thanks, Tanner Wildes

Havent ran a new zink call but to me his older calls were too flat sounding. not ducky enough. RNT makes good calls. The DC has some good rattle to it and will do what you need.
I know Ive been saying this a lot but you have to try a lares before you buy an rnt. Its very similar but imo one stage above them. Lots of rattle, calls will wine, great range from soft to barking loud. Tuning is cake work compared to the classic cork and cut reed method. I cant say enough good.
I may be able to send one of my hybrid with Wacknstack next time he swing thru and maybe you can meet up with him and run it. Its worth a shot. I like the sounds of my rnt, my DS is a great call but got the boot from the lares.
Also RM makes an awesome call. Again not one you mentioned but a much better call. He can work that tone board to sound anway you want it to and if you don't like it you can send it back to him and he will rework it to make it sound the way you want.
Or if your in the area feel free to swing thru my house. I have own a good amount of calls you can try out.

cool thanks! Yeah That is what I thought about the Zink call too, but I thought it might have been me too. That is good to know that somebody thought the same thing about it. Which Lares Call do you like the best, looking mostly for a low end call.

low end as in sound or price?
After speaking with Joe I went with the hybrid and now have two of them. Joe said the hybrid will do all the his small bore does but also give you top end when you need it. I have found the lares to be a very versatile call, get down quiet and nasty but barks out with the best of em.
