I've never got on the call buying spree haha. I ordered a dozen bigfoot floaters, 2dz january mallards, and 2 doz bigfoot sleeper shells monday.
I sold my 12ft enclosed and bought a 16.
sold several duck decoys and been replacing with january mallards. (rule is if i sell decoys, i use that money to buy decoys)
sold some layout blinds and been buying cabelas ultimate blinds. (I like to have 4 in the trailer)
sold several ghg divers and been snagging herters decoys when I can.
sold my benelli sbe 1 and bought a super vinci
sold my dakota and bought a 4x4 ram.
sold all my ghg goose decoys and got bigfoot floaters, fullbodies, and sleeper shells.
Selling some snows now to buy sillosocks.
sold all my mojos and bought brand new ones same model. (mine were old and I wanted the new magnetic wing model)
sold my 6 floater mojos and bought 6 new ones. (sold the old ones for the price of the new ones so figured why not)
To say I have made some off season upgrades would be an understatement. Luckily everything is paid off and I owe nothing. I do alot of buying and selling etc. I pick up stuff in the south and bring here and sale and do the same with stuff here and take it down there. Just turned into a hobby. I bought an old pontoon boat and trailer to make a floating duck blind for $550 from a guy and sold it for 4 $2k this summer so that paid off my new enclosed trailer.
It's been a good offseason for me so far.
Hope to have 10dz january mallards, 2dz more bigfoot sleeper shells, some golden eyes buffies and red head herters would be nice.
Snow spread needs to increase in size dramatically with fullbodies and sillosocks and also flyers.
specks i need to get about 5dz bigfoot specks before december.

Gotta keep the mind happy. Ya could def spend your money on worse. Carts are def a plus especially for walkin in a good amount of gear.
and I cant say enough good about BF goose floaters. We run a good wad of them and have never had an issue. Beat the piss out of them and they still look good.
Whats up with the january mallards. I run a handful of Hidgdons because I like the way they pop in the late season spread spread. i know cabelas has had some good deals on them

I do more duck hunting in west ky. plant shutsdown for 2 weeks and I also use 2 weeks of vacation to hunt in january their. I have 3 doz higdon battleships and just been selling my standard ghgs and buying january's off cabelas bargain cave online. The timber is dark and lots of shadows so the januarys stand out more.

We need a late season mallard hunt in WI. I cant stand why anyone would want an early teal over a late mallard season. I know it will never change, so some fellas I know and I will be heading out of the state more in the season to follow once we shut down in this great state.

It gets old, I do get sick of the ppl who do not want a later season. Most of them are lazy and dont mind shooting scrap ducks all season. I also see that a lot of the guides in my area are so high on themselve they think they know it all, sad. Most of them run Canvasback opertations as there big specalty. Well I hate to say it, Cans are calender ducks from I have seen in my years on the river. They come here by in large regardless of cold front pushes and freeze outs so they could careless about a late season, but they seem to sway people thoughts because they are "the great guides of the miss". They sit here and brag about shooting limits of Cans. We hold hundreds of thousands of them on mult pools at a time, Its no daunting task to shoot a one bird per man limit.
Im all for a late season mallard hunt. When I was younger it was not uncommon to get a freeze out in mid Nov, and sometimes even early Nov. Its been a good while since that has happened on a regular basis. I feel the season needs to change as the weather has. Also look at states who see the same weather we do. You can go hunt the Missouri river in Jan when our river is seeing the same weather conditions.
Nice little off topic rant....

Back on subject. Boat it being takin to Illow marine in IA to have all the wiring re-done. There has been a few updates since my rig was first wired, and I can see why they needed to update there harnesses.
Cant wait to have it back in a new working order.

Drove 9 hours stait today to drop the boat off in Clinton Ia. Got to meet Paul at the shop. Look forward to getting back.
I picked up some good ideas to add to my own for some better overhead concealment. Got to look thru Todd Lensing of flyway fowling rig and a few others while I was there.
