I was wondering if any of you guys have ever made any of your own motion decoys? I've been messing around with some, and modifying current ones, and liking it so far. Just curious what you guys have built.

Buddy of mine does his own pulsators. They work decent. I have some old herters with an oscillating mechanism in it with a nut on the swinging arm for weight. They run off aa batteries, those are prob around ten years old and haven't been used for close to 5. Still got em laying around somewhere.
It's Basically a half moon cut on he back and then a little tab to keep it closed. The mechanism is glued to the inside of the decoy. Then there is a small on off switch rigged into the back of the decoy so you don't have to open and close it to turn it off and on.

I ran into some hunters who had made their own pulsating feeder dekes with an old aquarium pump or something. They actually looked pretty good but seemed like a bit of a hassle with all the battery packs etc.
I'd hunt over them, but the places and way I hunt, small water, dragging all my gear in on foot either in my canoe or on my back, doesn't really lend itself to too much gear. Especially heavy stuff. For the little ponds and places like that I hunt, a handful of decoys and a jerk rig is about as complex as it gets.
