I've been running G&H Super Magnum Pintails both drakes and hen's for a couple of years now. I love them they are great, but they are just so big so this year I am going to get some smaller pintails just for more room in the boat. Here is a pic of the Super mag with an Avian-X Goose floater, and the new pro grade pintail from GHG. Tanner Attachments:

I'm hdong out for some avians. Until ghg makes there ducks soft body, which I heard they were, I'm gonna avoid them. also heard they are gonna come out with a paint warranty. Only time will tell.

Paint warranty COULD be a game changer. Heavy on the could.

Why would they warranty the paint? How would that change the game?

Their paint out of the box already comes chipped and it flakes off. After one year of Texas rig use the decoy looks like sh*t. If they made a more durable paint like g&h and put a warrenty of their paint it would "change the game" for me because I would start buying their product. IMO they have the best looking decoys but the worst quality. But now that Avian has came out with their line of floaters I really don't think I will ever buy GHG again.

Dkmf, are you talking about the backwater mallards? Was thinking of picking up a dz this off season. Do you like em'?

Yup, and I like them. After one season of Texas rig use and some brutal cold hunts they have little to no sign of wear on them. The back water style head positions are different as well. The softer bodied decoy allows for them to be smushed and not crack which I like. A helpful tip before hunting over them is to use a krylon clear coat on them. I have also done this to the ghg decoys and it helped for like three hunts. I wouldn't compare the avian paint to g&h status but it's close.

The Dakota mallards are that softer plastic, and I agree about that. I think I'll have to get a dozen now
