Cool stuff! That map is interesting too! Always cool to see where those birds go! Yeah I wish he'd put an updated one together. It is cool to look at. Obviously, most of the banded birds are harvested in WI and along the Mississippi flyway, but it's cool to see some of the, somewhat unexpected, places they end up.

Well at least one of the birds banded this year has been harvested. Not one of the ones I handled unfortunately, but a bird that was banded Aug 28th of this year, a couple of weeks before I was out there. This bird was a mature drake (that day they banded 270 drake mallards, of which only 57 were mature. The rest were immature drakes.) One of 519 mallards banded that day. Interesting to note that this bird was banded in Marquette Co in August and harvested aprox 175 miles (as the duck flies) Northwest of that spot in November in or around Barron Co.
